Scene One : From Dream to Reality?

T he minute I stepped into the school compound, I knew what she was gonna say. GOSH! How I wished I could've picked up the phone. I received F-I-V-E missed calls from Fuyuki and I didn't know. Because I had my phone on silent mode. So, I went to the table near the fish pond in the school canteen and took out my Modern Mathematics reference book and started studying. Truthfully, I couldn't actually FOCUS, but I managed to get some useful infos into my head. I lifted my head and looked around. I smiled to myself. I was kind of happy to see all the students in school having a great time with their friends.

Minako came down and said, " Wow! You're really one hard working gal huh, Rin?" I just gave her a smile and replied, " Well? Whaddaya expect? Final Exam's are around the corner anyway." Haha~ It was the typical answer ANYONE would say and reply. Hmm.. But something wasn't right. It seems like.... more like a Deja-vu. I've seen this situation before. I looked back and scanned my surroundings again. Then, something made me look at the pond. I swallowed and told myself, " No! This is not what it looks like!" I couldn't snap out of it until I heard a familiar voice. Kahoko came at my direction where I was suppose to be 'studying', together with Fuyuki. Right..~ There is SOMETHING about Fuyuki that I didn't tell you huh? Anyway, set that aside. At the corner of my eye, I caught my brother, Ridoki loafing around my school compound and I was left by my parent to do my own stuff. Oh and BTW, today was the school Carnival Day where families of students and friends from other schools get together in one compound and have fun. I smiled at myself, happy to see my best friend.

"Ignore her! >
"Ahhahh? ^^a Why?" Kahoko asked.
"Her fault! When she receives a phone call, she doesn't pick up the phone. What a waste of my time..T-T Hmph!"

Annnnd, that was EXACTLY what I predicted she would say, and she actually DID! Pffft~

"My bad. ^^! I was studying and had to put my phone on silent mode. Haa~" I told her.
"Uhuh..'studying' I presume. Nyeee~ XP! Not talking to you. Bleeekk~" She answered.

As lame as ever. I was used to her saying that, knowing what she say'll never happen (sorry, my friend). I grinned at her and replied the same way she did to me, stuck out my tongue at her. XP!! So, I packed my books and tagged with Kahoko and Fuyuki and head into the hall. Then I paused. Something really WASN'T right at all. I looked at myself, from top to bottom. I mean, from my hands to my shoes. Why would anyone wear school uniform to a carnival? Weird fact No.1. I know this is lame, but I just HAD to look back at the pond. I shivered and kept reminding myself that it is not what I've SEEN before or AM GOING to see later on. I shaked my head when I heard a voice behind me.

"Ano, Rin! You coming or what? =="

I turned back and heard Kahoko calling out for me and Fuyuki waiting for me with her hands crossed.

"Hai! Just a sec!"

One last look at the pond and I knew it was the exact same thing that I've seen before. I knew I had to do something. And that something was to get my brother. Coincidentally, thank God he was passing by the canteen. I called for him to tag along with me and my girl-friends and he reluctantly did (since he's got nothing to do anyway).

So, we went to the hall and chatted like old friends did. We were having a great time together. Then, I felt a little hungry. So, I got up and went to the canteen where the students had their stalls up ready to sell stuffs. As I walked out, my brother followed (I laughed at the sight of him. Because it was kind of cute that he wanted to tag with me but not my friends) and I could see, our security guard, Principal and Vice Principal near the pond. I lifted my eyebrow and wondered what was going on. Out of curiosity, I went close and tried to listen to the conversation. I knew that if the school security guard was there, there has got to be something to do with the pond or anything regarding the security of the school. Then out of the blue I saw my mum coming down and joined the conversation. I knew my brother was tagging along as I could hear his 'Big Foot' footsteps just right behind me.

"We have to get rid of it! It's too dangerous to have it in the pond. It might not just hurt the students, it can KILL anyone around here," exclaimed my school Principal.

"Yeah. We all know that. But how are WE going to do take it out? It is too big to even use the fishing net that we have to take it out. What's more there's more than one in there," Vice Principal replied while the guard just starred and waited for orders from the Principal.

I moved in a little forward and bent over to see what was in the pond that made such a fuss among them.

"HOLY SHIT!" I spoke to myself in my head and backed away from the pond. I couldn't believe what I just saw. I just don't even want to know or remember the image that just appeared right in front of my eyes. Probably it was just me, but I don't think so. And speaking about the figure, I don't even wanna say what it was, because you might think that I'm crazy to say such things. But, in the end, you will know sooner or later what it is.

"No. This is not happening," I whispered to myself as well as putting myself in denial.

Three HUGE baby anacondas were in the pond. And the worst thing is about to come (if my vision was correct). And if my vision was right again, I would expect to see another one. And yeap! That was when my fear started shaking up. It was the EXACT same thing I saw in my last nightmare. A HUGE, FAT, OVERGROWN SIZED male anaconda (how I know it's a male, the scales on its body shows it all) was right in the pond. And it looked at me with those sadistic, violent, dragon-serpent like eyes and it started swimming vigorously with its kids (but I wouldn't call it swimming because the pond was really TOO small for it to be even 'swimming' around with its HUGE body). I backed away when I heard Kahoko calling out for me.

"What's taking you so long? We were talking about something fun and you just missed it..." Kahoko said then she stopped when she saw the Principals and the guard nearby. To me, I knew I had to tell them to back away from the pond, but it was too late. I gulped down and looked at Kahoko and said, " Brace yourself. "

"Huh?"

I called out for Fuyuki. But when I looked back. It wasn't the HUMAN Fuyuki that I saw coming out to me. She didn't even have to wait to see what was going on because she already knew it was about to happen. The form that she dreaded to see. The form that I promised that I will find a way to cure it. The form that made her live in misery. The same form as the one that is in the pond. It came towards my direction as I put out my hand as a signal to call her out.

"Jeez. This one is already fat enough, and now you're giving me this BIGGER one. What a D-A-Y," I said to myself to Kahoko, and when she looked back, she wasn't surprised at all to see Fuyuki in that form. Because WE already knew what happened.
